On Monday 21st March, 2016, PPIW was delighted to welcome colleagues to celebrate our Second Anniversary, at the Glamorgan Building, Cardiff University.
This event marked PPIW’s achievements over the last year, and examined the current evidence ecosystem in Wales, and the potential needs of the next Welsh Government.
Joining us to address this important issue was a panel of leading researchers from the academic and third sectors.
Our speakers were:
Dr Victoria Winckler – Director of the Bevan Foundation
Professor Jonathan Shepherd – Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Violence Research Group, Cardiff University
Professor Chris Taylor – Co-Director of the Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD) and Deputy Director of WISERD Education
Professor Laura McAllister – Professor of Governance at the University of Liverpool’s School of Management
The question we posed our panel was: What do you see as the incoming Welsh Government’s evidence needs and how would you advise Ministers to improve the use of evidence in Wales?
