Expert Workshop on De-escalating Interventions for Troubled Adolescents

Following a request from the Minister for Health and Social Services, the PPIW held an expert workshop on 21st January to explore the evidence and potential for introducing lower level interventions in adolescent mental health and social services, and to identify lessons from approaches adopted in the area of youth justice.

The workshop, held at Cardiff University’s DECIPHer building, was attended by researchers from the universities of Aberystwyth, Cardiff, Coventry, and South Wales; representatives of Children in Wales, Cwm Taf University Health Board, Voices from Care Cymru, and Youth Justice Board Cymru; and Welsh Government officials. We plan to publish a summary of the discussion in due course.
